The Gift Woodworkers Actually Want
I gotta say great job on breaking down and explaining everything you should maybe teach but as far as the big eye I don't see the value in it as it will only hold something like a pen or pencil . Also you can get the same results with a hand router if you're skilled because us poor folks can't afford the product or a CNC router but thanks for this
Nice addition to the Big Eye. Glad to see you are using Harvey. Been looking at them. I’ve just started into CNC. Would you say a table saw or band saw would be the best first purchase for a new CNC’er?
I appreciate that you got right to it. Put the links up and great information excited to give this a try.
Outstanding video, Hamilton! Your delivery was just right for me, as well as the content.
Send one to Izzy Swan not sure if he has the big eye or not but he has a new Harvey
would you make a mft top 20mm holes on 96mm centers 2x4 3/4 mdf
Love this idea but maybe short one for rails
I have been having trouble understanding schetchup. I just have an issue with understanding the perspective. Will I still have the same issue doing coding for most cnc router programs? I actually have quite bit experience with more standard computer programming. This is main reason I haven’t gotten purchased a cnc yet. However, I finally have a cheap 3d printer coming on order so hopefully that will figure it out for me
genius.
I beg to differ the best fence is a incra fence
One of my favorite projects you’ve done!
Elend's deuling cane!
I think I am going to make them. I have the Big Eye as well. Love it.
Need to spring load the pad and add air/dust collection to keep it cool and clear. Making a mount for a random orbital sander will take care of half the issue, put it on a spring loaded or slightly weighted mount and you would be golden!
That’s a good looking plant stand.
I did the haircut, looking forward to your next video as always.
The Mitz file looked like a plant stand, for holding up a nice pot. I love my harvey saw, but have not upgraded to the Big Eye...is it really worth the price? It's pricy!!
Somehow stumbled on this channel. I like the whole idea of making things and selling them to others to sell. Also love how much you’re teaching everything. Don’t think I’ll ever do any of this stuff but interested to follow the channel and see how things go
The pocket rocket!
I’ve done markets for a year now, your “U” shape to invite people into your booth tends to not work. People see 2’ of your booth and walk by. Instead do it upside down U so the tables are outside and you stand inside them. Then people can look and walk by seeing more of your products. Also raise your tables up to 36” high. It makes it more eye level, keeps little kids hands off the products and makes it much easier for people to see. Stair step the products, so you can have more but don’t hide things behind other stuff making it hard to see. Lastly, stay off your phone, GREET EVERYONE YOU SEE, and if they walk by, don’t worry about it. All you have to do is say hello. That gets them to look your direction, know you’re approachable and people will stop and see what you sell. If you have power LIGHTS will get eyes looking. Invest in fairy lights or if you can, hang lights off your tent with clamps on your products. Even in full light, adding daylight LED lights will brighten your booth making it more attractive. If you can, invest in colored RGB lights that flash to music, put on your own music low near the microphone and they’ll flash and the sound will also attract attention. The key will be getting attention. If you can also demonstrate what you do by crafting on site it will make people stop as well.
verry nice THANK YOU
Lean into automated sanding. Every pro hates it, and it takes forever. Lot's of folks will pay a lot to not have to sand anymore. I'm surprised big companies haven't done it yet, basically every woodworking video includes a mention of how much they hate sanding.
I just came across this video yesterday and was kind of stunned at the Supercell capabilities - it appears you've had it about a year now and I wonder if you would comment on its performance since then. Also, I'm curious which SuperCell you have - the High Pressure or the Turbo I realize it has been a year but hopefully you're still monitoring the older threads Thanks
I've got the turbo and still absolutely love it. I wish I had another!
How do you do a profile cut into that without ruining that 1000 dollar piece of plastic? Wouldn't that sacrificial board that is sold separately need to have holes in it to transfer the vacuum to that too? It would have been nice to see some CNC examples running that using the profile toolpath
8,000 rpm? That is terrifying. Rotex is like 700 rpm on the highest speed if I remember right.
Obviously well built. I made one integrated into my work table, adjustable height. With a so-called janky plywood sled that works great. Easy, inexpensive, and sets up quickly.
Thank you for this video. i get a lot of flak about my CNC work in my woodworking circle. You break it down and present it such a great simplified way. Thanks again.
wtf is a whisky smoker ?
man dropped a way to make 1k a week for free what a legend
I am glad you posted this. I have been thinking about trying this on my Shapeoko 4 with a 2" sanding disk set up that I use on my drill press. this gives me a little heads up on what to expect that will give me a smoother start if I do decide to move forward with this in my shop. You have good content. Keep up the good work!
You could maybe make a whiskey smoker with a hole on each end so when the one eventually dies out you swap sides. Could make a fitted sleeve to hold the used whole and sell it for maybe 3x more?
I had the same idea back in 2003. It works pretty well, but you can go a step further by polishing parts with pads, apply wax or doing engine turning, jeweling, etc. All these techniques works brilliantly.
The 2018 footage. 😂😂😂
Love this!! But sure looks like a LOT of work!
I think I would stick to a leveling bit and then hand sand. That router mounting sanding Disc is scary.
yep, its probably the scariest thing I've done with my cnc
I Love the after the credit Mitz file LOL
Cant forget Mitz!
Interesting thumbnail, at first, I thought you were my sister. And then I saw your beard. Look forward to your next video.
The hair has gotten super long, gonna chop it off soon!
You should make a jig that holds the dewalt sander in the cnc.
ohh now thats a good idea
Great throw back to strips and strips and strips. I'm in the middle of a 80"x63" end grain island countertop project. I have cut nothing but strips for days and have days and days left to go.
Now thats torture! I bet its gonna look killer, though!
I believe Kintsugi is the term for fixing broken pottery with gold.
yep thats it!
i like your new overhead camera introduction.
Thanks! Its been fun setting it all up!
Now turn your sander into a cnc
tons of tiny pigs tail swirls
What’s the point of this video?
why'd you glue the entire plug? just dunked it into some glue didn't ya.
Thank you for making videos like this...im getting into CNC and this helped
Not just a whiskey smoker. I have an incense burner that burns the cones, works the exact same way. So it really could be used for several things.
I just upgraded my Journeyman from a X-50 to Elite, and while I think it’s an awesome upgrade, information and instruction on setting up the MASSO is a bit lacking. While I think I mostly have it figured out now, I had to hunt everywhere to find help on tool change, homing, multiple tool pathing, MDI commands etc. I think a video showing some of these steps would be awesome. There is another creator that comes close to a video similar to what I suggest, Mitchell’s woodworking, but he misses a bunch. A video showing how to program in your first bit in your MASSO, how to setup for multiple tool changes using a tool setter, parking, tool change location, changing post processor in your VCarve. Etc….maybe some useful MDI commands, like changing the time, the Txx M06 command, etc. The move from Black Box to MASSO was huge in terms of order of operations.
Would roughing the outside edge first then doing a finish pass at the final size help the chip out?
The much more reliable way to do your outside profile would be to cut down around 1/2 an inch with the Jenny, then cut outside the line with a jigsaw or bandsaw, and flush trim with router or router table. Perfect results every time and much better on your cnc bits.
I don't know why you use Downtown Jenny and not Cody's Compression but. Downcut bits back scrape the wood. Not cutting into it.a compression bit has the last 1/4"turned into an upcut bit so cuts cleanly I to the wood. But still downcut to keep top edge cleZn
